SLURP | RAW HOT CACAO TONIC
Hai!
I am sitting here after a wonderful and v chill Sunday morning and early afternoon.
I started this new thing where I show up to Trader Joe’s BEFORE they open, or at least, right when they open, so I can have a parking spot (so much easier to drive to the grocery store than it is to walk, esp in the cold) and be able to pick up what I want instead of having it be out of stock cause everyone and their mother is at TJ’s.
Let me just say, it was v nice to get my grocery shopping done first thing in the morning. I slept in, bought food for the week, read + ate breaky, meal prepped, picked out outfits/put laundry way, worked out, did a whole face mask routine, made lunch, and chilled. I will eventually study…
But before I do, I wanted to share my fav hot cacao tonic I have been making for the last couple of months after I perfected the recipe.
This is the best way to chill after a long day, or even a better way to start your morning!
It is dairy-free, sugar-free, and full of yum! You can customize it however you like - but this is my preferred method :
| RAW HOT CACAO TONIC |
Supply :::
+ 1c. unsweetened vanilla almond mylk
+ 2t. alcohol-free vanilla extract
+ 1 pitted date
+ 1T. cacao powder
+ 1t. raw almond butta
Process :::
+ Add almond mylk, vanilla extract, and date to a sauce pan and bring to a simmer
+ While simmering, add cacao powder and almond butta to a blender
+ Add almond mylk mixture to blender
+ Blend for about one minute or so
+ Pour into a favorite mug
+ If feeling fancy - top with rainbow sprinkles and marshmallows
Well there you have it! My homemade version of a basic hot chocolate. I have been wanting a sugar-free version, and I experimented with this tonic for a while. But I am v happy with this, and basically make it at least once a day :)
Hope you enjoy!
