Staycation | The Dirty T Edition Part II
Oh hey!
So back for more about The Dirty T?
Part II isn't as packed as Part I seeing that we just woke up to the sound of live jazzy music being played outside our Hotel Congress room, got ready, and headed straight down to the lobby to check out (before 11AM...) and get in the very long line for the Bloody Mary/Maria bar.
Yes, that is right.
THE Bloody Maria bar.
Saturdays + Sundays, Hotel Congress gets a little fancy and puts on this bar all morning long. It is the best brunch idea ever. Hotel Congress is just full of those ideas.
John and I love to get spicy spicy Bloody Marias - think this : TEQUILA + bloody mix + spiciness + garlic + capers + celery + pickle juice + black pepper on the rim (John loves salt) + lime + lemon + green olives + and extra pickles, if you ask!
It is truly a meal in a drink.
We try to snag two while we are in town. Hey, it's a brunching morning, time to really take this part of the day slow, enjoy the atmosphere + people, noms and life.
It's all about that resting thing I was mentioning in Part I.
After enjoying the better part of the day sitting outside, nomming, + taking photos with my polaroid, FYI - I did not get the flourless chocolate cake that they make in the restaurant (usually, I have to! But was way tooooo stuffed #brunchprobs), we packed up the truck, and headed home.
It was such a full tummy + sleepy ride back. We did manage to get an off-roading adventure in for a bit!
I love love love visiting Tucson. I get to experience most of what I enjoy about the city within a two day period, and it's just the perfect getaway. I think what helps with really enjoying this weekend is knowing where to go...like a local. Cause, hey, I lived in the city for five years. I should know about where to go to enjoy a good time.
Tucson will forever hold a place in my heart. I am grateful to know such a place, and also, to be able to share this with John.
Until next time, Dirty T.
